How to Unlock White Birch Snowgrave in Genshin Impact 7.0

If you are constantly dying to the Snezhnaya storm, discover exactly how you can unlock White Birch Snowgrave in Genshin Impact 7.0 and reach the Pale Crown Palace.

Are you thrilled about the massive new Snezhnaya map expansion but frustrated by the harsh conditions? When Genshin Impact Version 7.0, “Everwinter Without Mercy,” launched, it introduced five distinct new zones. However, if you have tried exploring the northernmost section of the map, you likely found yourself constantly wiped out by a lethal storm. You are definitely not alone!

How To Get To White Birch Snowgrave Genshin

You may be getting stuck trying to reach the White Birch Snowgrave Statue of the Seven. In this guide, you will learn exactly how to safely bypass the deadly weather, complete the necessary World Quests, and finally unlock the path to the Pale Crown Palace.

Why You Can’t Just Walk Into White Birch Snowgrave

Genshin Impact is famous for keeping travelers on their toes with harsh environmental hazards, and Snezhnaya takes this to the next level. If you attempt to wander into White Birch Snowgrave early, your party will be stopped by intense cold and a blinding storm that immediately drains your health. If you survived Balethunder in Inazuma or Sheer Cold in Dragonspine, this mechanic will feel very familiar.

People dealing with the same problem often try to clip through the barrier or use glitches to bypass the storm. Unfortunately, even if you manage to clip inside, you cannot explore the Pale Crown Palace—the former residence and mausoleum of the Belyi Tsar. Accessing the palace requires fixing a specific train, which is impossible without the assistance of a key NPC named Goggles. To survive the environment and repair the transport, your only real option is to play through the designated story quests.

Prerequisite Quests You Need to Complete First

Before you can step foot in the new snowy region, you must restore the Eye of Graeae fragments. You should set aside roughly two hours of gameplay to clear these prerequisites.

Here is the exact quest chain you need to complete first:

  • Great Deeds on the Tundra: You must advance this Archon Quest (Chapter VII: Act I “Everwinter Without Mercy”) until you unlock free-roam and the ability to board the train. Genshin Impact
  • Hesperides of Love and Hate: You will need an invitation to start this quest. If you focus purely on the main objectives and skip the optional House of Hesperides exploration, this will take you about 20 to 30 minutes. HoYoLAB
  • In the Dwelling of Life: Located in the Flamefeather Valley, this World Quest will take you around an hour to complete. HoYoLAB

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Unlock White Birch Snowgrave

Once your prerequisite quests are finished, you will automatically unlock the main World Quest that guides you into the snowfield: “On One Side a Palace, On the Other a Tomb.”

White Birch Snowgrave Path Into The Mountains

You can try the following steps to navigate the deadly terrain and unlock the region:

  1. Trigger the Quest and Unlock the Waypoint: First, glide down from The Korolevskiy Theater toward the railway tracks located in the northeastern area of the map. Track the Statue of the Seven in the Pilgrimage to the Sacred Gorge to officially activate the quest. Be sure to unlock the teleport waypoint near the local chapel so you have a convenient fast-travel spot later!
  2. Meet the Eye of Graeae: The questline will kick off with the To Gaze Upon the Dreaming Pale Crown subquest. Head over to the train in the Central Station and speak to the Eye of Graeae, who will act as your guide.
  3. Clear the Ice and Follow the Path: Stick close to the Eye of Graeae to avoid dying to the storm. As you walk through the White Birch Snowgrave region, your route will occasionally get blocked. When this happens, use a Basic Heat Source Prime Ice Construct to melt the solid ice. Remember to use the HoYoLAB interactive map or check YouTube walkthroughs if you get turned around while navigating the ruins.

By following your guide closely, you will bypass the lethal storms, fix the train, and finally gain access to the Pale Crown Palace.
